Dr Stefaan De Clercq is a Specialist General and Bariatric Surgeon (FRACS) with over 20 years’ experience.

Originally from Belgium, Dr Stefaan relocated to Australia in 2014, where he has now worked for over a decade at a Consultant level. This has included time spent as Director of Surgery.

Anti-reflux surgery and treatment of Barrett’s oesophagus, is an area where Stefaan has extensive expertise in both primary and revision surgery for new patients.

Stefaan believes in offering patients a range of best possible outcome options to help patients make informed decisions.

Dr Stefaan is an accomplished General and Bariatric Surgeon. He also holds the GESA certificate for upper and lower endoscopy with recertification. He also has a significant skillset in skin cancer surgery, including skin flaps and grafts. Dr De Clercq is a well-regarded researcher and has presented at scientific conferences in Australia and around the world.
